Ignite Me By Tahereh Mafi

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 2.5

Ignite Me was better than the other two installments, but i still didn't enjoy it.

I didn't hate Juliette as much as i did in the other books, but she was still annoying, and stupid.

I still didn't like either of the love interests.
Adam has got worse as the books have progressed, so with every scene he was in, i found myself hating him more.

I felt like everything Warner went through when he was a child was only there so he had an excuse for being an arse in the other books, and make him more likable.
I did feel sorry for him at times, but it just didn't excuse the way he treated people before.

Kenji annoyed me at times, and there was a moment where i thought he was just as stupid as Juliette, but he was my favorite character.
There was a few other characters that i liked, but they weren't in it very much.

The pacing was still really slow, which bored me.
On one hand, i wanted to find out what happened at the end, and find out which arse she chose... but on the other, i really couldn't be bothered to carry on, because of how dragged it out it was!

Overall, slow, dull, annoying... but better than the rest.

Unravel Me By Tahereh Mafi

Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2)Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Unravel Me was slightly (very slightly) better than Shatter Me, but that's not saying much.

The writing really annoyed me in the beginning, like it did in the first installment.
The writing was supposed to be poetic, and while some people love it, i didn't.
The strikeouts were doing my head in as well.

I hate Juliette, I don't like Warner, I don't like Adam.
Kenji annoyed me at times as well, but he was the only character that i could actually stand.
He told Juliette how it was plenty of times, and for that, i thank him.

Overall, another tedious read.
I can't wait to finish this series!

Faking Normal By Courtney C. Stevens

Faking NormalFaking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Faking Normal was a really good read!

I loved Alexi and Bodee.
They were both really strong, and i loved their relationship.

Alexi's friends annoyed me at times, but Alexi's sister was defiantly the most annoying character.
There was only one part that i liked her, the rest of the time i couldn't stand her!

There was two different mysteries in this - Who the culprit was and who "Captain Lyrics" was.
The main mystery was done really well. I managed to guess who hurt her just before it was revealed, but up until that point, i had no idea!
The "Captain Lyrics" mystery was also quite good.

Overall, good characters, good mystery - Great read!

One Kick By Chelsea Cain

One Kick (Kick Lannigan, #1)One Kick by Chelsea Cain
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.)

One Kick started out quite good, but i lost interest.

Kick went through some horrible things, and i felt really sorry for her.
She could stand up for herself, and she wasn't annoying, so she should have been a likable character... but unfortunately, i didn't find her anything more than "okay"

I lost interest in this quite early on, so i went through 70% feeling really bored.
By about 60% i just wanted it to end!

Overall, slow. Would have been a lot better if the pacing was a bit faster.

Between the LivesBetween the Lives by Jessica Shirvington
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Between the Lives started out okay, but i quickly lost interest.

I didn't really like Sabine.
She could be quite annoying, and was really stupid for the majority of the book.
When she done her experiments, she wondered if her injuries would show up in her other life... but she didn't think about what would happen when she switched back to the life she did the experiments in.

The storyline was slow and predictable.
I was bored through the majority of the book, and it was really hard to find the motivation to finish it.
The only thing i didn't find predictable was the ending. It came out of nowhere!

Overall, slow, predictable, dull.

Don't Look Back By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Don't Look BackDon't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Don't Look Back was better than the authors lux series, but it still wasn't anything amazing.

I didn't like the "old" Sam. She treated people like crap, and was really shallow.
The "new" Sam was okay, but she could have her stupid moments.

I liked Sam's brother and his girlfriend, and Carson was an okay character, but i hated the rest of the characters.

Don't Look Back was quite good at the beginning, and i was really surprised that it was written by the same author who wrote the lux series, because i didn't like them.
As the story progressed though, i started to get bored.
It was dragging a bit too much, and i just wanted answers!

When the killer was finally revealed, it was quite a shock, as i didn't think it would be that person.

Overall, started out great, but i lost interest.

Fragile Line started out quite boring, and unfortunately, it didn't get any better.

I could tolerate Ellie most of the time, but sometimes she really annoyed me.
She had a few stupid moments too - With one taking place very early in the book.

The pacing wasn't that slow, but i just couldn't get interested in the story.

Overall, not the book for me.

Summer of Yesterday By Gaby Triana

Summer of YesterdaySummer of Yesterday by Gaby Triana
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.)

Summer of Yesterday was a nice quick read.

Finding out about River Country was really interesting, as i had never heard about it until a few days ago when a friend read this.

Haley annoyed me at first.
I understand that she hated splitting her time between both parents, and she was annoyed about leaving her friends... but her constant whining was getting on my nerves.

When she found out she was in the past, i thought she took it way too well.
If i woke up in 1982, i would be freaking out. (And it wouldn't just be because i'd have no kindle...)
Thankfully, as the story progressed, she got a lot less annoying, and by the end, i liked her.

The whole situation was obviously going to end badly for her, so i felt quite sorry for her - especially at the end!

Overall, an enjoyable read, with an interesting Disney history lesson!

The Moment CollectorThe Moment Collector by Jodi Lynn Anderson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

The Moment Collector started out okay, but i lost interest.

The characters in this were alright, but i didn't love any of them.

At times, the book focused more on the character's love lives than the mystery. It was fairly obvious who was going to be the one that came out on top, so it bored me.
It was also a bit too slow. I wouldn't have minded the slow pace as much if the mystery played a bigger part.

The ending was quite tragic, and i didn't expect it to end that way.

Overall, slow, and didn't have enough mystery in it to keep me interested.

Talented was a really hard book to get through.
I put it down at 75% because i couldn't take any more.
I had to force myself to finish it 8 hours later, and it took chocolate to make it tolerable.

I was bored from the first chapter.
Even when there was a bit of action, i was still bored.

The characters were rubbish.
I didn't like any of them, but Talia was defiantly the one i liked least.

Overall, rubbish.

Whispering Hills By Taryn Browning

Whispering Hills (Whispering Hills, #1)Whispering Hills by Taryn Browning
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

When Alexis hears the thoughts of a killer, she knows she has to find out who it is before they kill again. Though, what she doesn't realize, is that working out the mystery will open her memory to an event that should have been different.
Can you really change fate, and not have any implications?

This was an okay book, but all the plot holes ruined it, and by the halfway mark, i was quite bored.

Alexis stated how she can only hear peoples thoughts when they made decisions, but i found the stuff they thought quite odd.
In one part, a girl thought: "Screw the calories, i'm eating the whole cupcake" While that isn't an unusual thought, it's odd how she phrased it. While thinking to ourselves, we wouldn't talk in full sentences all the time, we'd simply think "Screw it" and carry on demolishing the cupcake.
There was also another one with the killer, when he thought: "I'll put her dead body in the lake" The killer obviously knew the victim was dead, so why mention the dead body bit? You'd just think "I'll put her in the lake"

I found Alexis quite stupid at times. I guessed quiet early on what Chance's secret was, but it took Alexis half the book to find out. It's not like he kept his secret heavily guarded, it was pretty obvious that something was up, but Alexis completely missed it.

Overall, this was an alright paranormal story, but the plot holes really ruined it.

The Raft By S.A. Bodeen

The RaftThe Raft by S.A. Bodeen
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The Raft was dull, and had a main character that could be very dumb at times.

Robie had a survival guide with her, and it told her not to eat food if there wasn't any drinkable water near by.
She thought it was stupid, and told herself she'd eat anyway.
Does she not realize that dehydration kills quicker than starvation, and eating food would just make her more thirsty?

I found it stupid that she didn't really want to eat the purple skittles she found, because she didn't like them. Unless you're severely allergic to something, you'd eat anything if you were starving... So why was she complaining about purple skittles?

It was also really ridiculous when she was thinking about the thing that she would need the most.
You'd think her first answer would be something that would help her survive, right? Maybe something to purify salt water, so she'd have all the drinkable water she'd want? Any person in this situation would say that, but not Robie. The purification thing was actually her third thought... Her first, was lip balm.

There was a few scenes in the book that really broke my heart. They didn't have anything to do with Robie though, they were all about the animals.
The seal story was horrible.
I think it was only there to fill the pages, and/or for shock value.
I felt like skipping a couple of pages so i wouldn't have to read it.
It was awful.

Overall, this was a disappointing read. I'm really glad it was short, because i don't think i could have read much more.

Speechless By Hannah Harrington

SpeechlessSpeechless by Hannah Harrington
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really didn't like Chelsea at first. She spread rumors, and blackmailed people into getting what she, or Kristen wanted. She was selfish, shallow, and thought the only person better than her was Kristen.

I still didn't like her much when she first took the vow of silence.
Bullying is a horrible thing to go through, and i understand why Chelsea was so upset over it.
The issue i had with her though, was that she thought more about what she was going through, than what the boy her words put into hospital was going through.
After all what her friends done, she still wanted to be friends with them, Which made me think she didn't really care what Noah went through because of them.

As the story progressed though, i did start liking her. She started to think about what her former friends were really like, and how she wanted no part of that.

That was mainly down to her new friends.

Asha was funny, and really sweet. She was the only person to talk to Chelsea, even though she was good friends with Noah, and shouldn't want anything to do with her.

Sam was also good friends with Noah. Though, understandably, he found it harder to forgive, only hanging around her for the sake of Asha.
I really liked him. He was funny, sweet, and really protective of his friends.

I really liked Dex and Lou. They made a great couple. I wish they were part of the story more.

I loved the ending. You really saw how much Chelsea had changed, and i loved how they all got a happy ending.

Fracture By Megan Miranda

Fracture (Fracture, #1)Fracture by Megan Miranda
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Fracture is full of death, deceit and suspicion. It also includes a very controversial subject.

I can't say i really like Delaney, but i didn't dislike her either. She was a fairly average character.

I did feel sorry for her at times, though.
Her mum lied to her for years. You do get an insight later on in the book why she did it, but i still find it wrong that she kept Delaney from making her own mind up about seeing them.

The one thing that really made me dislike them though, was what they accused Delaney of. You just don't accuse your kids of that, and then make it sound like it was a perfectly fine thing to do because "It would have happened soon anyway"

Delaney's feelings were basically like a light switch. One minute she was jealous of Decker kissing someone else because she liked him, and the next she didn't care, then she cared again.
One minute she liked Troy, the next she found him repulsive and was afraid of him, then she liked him again.

Overall, it was a good read about a girl surviving eleven minutes in an icy lake, Gaining the ability to know who's going to die soon. Though, it lost enjoyment value by the main character having on/off feelings, and lacking a few explanations.

Wake By Amanda Hocking

Wake (Watersong #1)Wake by Amanda Hocking
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The opening scene was really good. It was creepy, and set the book up for something great.
Unfortunately though, it went downhill very fast, and i didn't like it again until i was near the end.
It was boring, and uneventful.

It did pick up again at page 214, and delivered the creepiness i was waiting for. It was a case of too little too late though, so my overall opinion on the book wasn't a particularly good one.

I didn't really connect with any of the characters.

Gemma had as much depth as a paddling pool, so i really didn't know why she'd be wanted as a siren.

Harper was quite annoying. I know she was only trying to protect her sister, but she took it a bit too far. She often went from protective, to possessive.

Overall, It wasn't really a book i enjoyed. The creepiness that the prologue promised, didn't deliver until near the ending, and was very uneventful until that point.

Falling By Amber Jaeger

Falling (Hemlock Bay, #1)Falling by Amber Jaeger
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

While in Nightmare town, A world only entered through Bixby's dreams, She comes face to face with a very inquisitive stranger.

He offers to bring her brother back from the dead, and all he wants in return is to find out more about her world.. or so Bixby thinks.

Bixby really annoyed me, She was so naive. Why would you agree to some strangers offer, when you haven't asked what it fully entails?
He's saying he can bring your brother back, who's supposed to be dead and you think all he wants from you are answers? Dream on!

Jordan was such a creep.

"Autumn is my favorite season." I mumbled stupidly.

"I know it is," he said fervently. "That's why i make it perfect for you. It never rains on Halloween, it's never so cold kids have to cover up their costumes. I make the leaves change color and drop in shifts, lasting for months. That smell you love so much, it's the leaves changing."

My stomach curled in on itself a little. "How do you know that?" i whispered. "How do you know that about me?"

He smiled sweetly and moved his hand from the chair to my hand. "Just observation"

 photo tumblr_m8jvry5OHO1rpwaqo.gif

Mhm hm, "Observation"

That's not the only stalker type thing he says, and there's moments where Bixby actually think it's sweet and falls for him, and when she does find it creepy, it doesn't last for long.

This could have been good, but it fell flat on it's face.

It took me five pages to realize that Nil was going to be a very long read.

 photo tumblr_m1nmplto1l1r7kx8go1_500.gif

Charley (with an EY - As Thad pointed it out all the bloody time.) was annoying.
She banged on about Sprite, thought more about how hot Thad was instead of being thankful that someone saved her, and was absolutely useless.
When she suddenly found her use, it was so unbelievable.
(view spoiler)

Thad was annoying too.
He thought more about how hot Charley was than thinking "Oh, another newbie", and kept on calling Charley "Charley with the ey".
Every time he called her that, i wanted to punch him.

Needless to say, i didn't like their romance either.
It was annoying, cheesy, and i just didn't buy it.

I usually hate it when a book has something in it that's really similar to another book... but this book would have been so much better if the fog from Catching Fire was in it.

That ending.

Outside By Shalini Boland

Outside - a post-apocalyptic novel (Outside #1)Outside - a post-apocalyptic novel by Shalini Boland
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review)

Riley lives inside the perimeter, she's one of the lucky ones. With wastelands full of people doing anything they can do to survive, Outside is a dangerous place to be. Though, after suffering from the loss of her sister, This young girl puts her life in danger to bring her sister some justice.

"Thinking of Skye gives me a shot of courage. No matter how scared i feel about everything, I know i have to do this for her. She was my little sister and she deserves justice."

These three sentences really shown me how strong Riley was. She's scared out of her mind, but none of this matters if it means she can come face to face with her killer, and get her the justice she deserves.

About halfway through the book, Riley and Lucs experience shows how, in a world so totally changed, trusting people can be the most dangerous thing you can do.

I loved how there was two point of views. Riley shown what was happening now, and Ellie shown how it all begin. It really surprised me how deeply both stories were connected to each other.

The fact that, the breakdown of society was something that could really happen to us, made it seem more frightening.

I'll have to get my hands on the next books soon!

Dying to Forget By Trish Marie Dawson

Dying To Forget (The Station, #1)Dying To Forget by Trish Marie Dawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Piper wakes up after committing suicide, she's confused, and surprised at where she is.
She's not in Heaven, or hell. Instead, she's in a station.

Then things become even more confusing, when a man claiming to be her mentor turns up.
Piper has no idea what he's there to mentor her for.. But that all becomes clear when she's given two options.

She can try and stop people from committing suicide, or opt out, Spending eternity feeling everything she felt before she died.

I thought the options were quite tough. Helping somebody through suicide thoughts, like what you just acted on, or spend all eternity feeling what lead you to killing yourself.

Either way it's a battle, but Piper doesn't see moving on as an option. If she's got no choice in facing her issues, she may as well help people in the process.

Some of the stories were quite sad. They dealt with issues that unfortunately, happen every day.
Just as Piper thought the people she was helping was getting their lives on track, something popped up, ready to put them back into thinking suicidal thoughts.

Overall, this was a pretty good book, Full of hard hitting issues that happen far too much in reality.

After Lianne comes into her powers and is filled with a burning rage, She may just be pushed over the edge when news about Queen Mags affair causes a shocking turn of events.

After that, Lianne and Mags friendship is very strained.. Until the news about the queen comes out. Then Lianne will do anything to save her, even if it means endangering herself.

I loved Lianne, She was so protective of her friend, She was even willing to kill for her.

I loved Mags too, she was such a brilliant mother, What she went through was awful.

I did like Bryden, but at times he really did annoy me.

I hated Kellan, i really did. He was such a bully, and a user.

Shift By Em Bailey

ShiftShift by Em Bailey
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

"A chilling psychological thriller that tears through themes of identity, loss, and toxic friendship, Shift will leave readers guessing until the final pages"

Unfortunately, i found none of the book to be "chilling" and it didn't have me guessing until the final page.

The revelation with Ami wasn't shocking at all. It was pretty obvious from the start what was up with her. The blurb doesn't help keep it a secret, either.

Olive really annoyed me. In the first half, She had suspicions on what Miranda was, and she could see what she was doing to Katie. For those reasons, she hated her, and tried to stay away from her.

However, in the second half, she done a complete U turn. She started hanging around her, and started to enjoy her company. She viewed her as a friend, even after her brother reminded her about her suspicions, and Miranda's guardian warned her.

Overall, This was a bit of a boring read, and had some painfully obvious revelations.

First Visions By Heather Topham Wood

First Visions (Second Sight, #1)First Visions by Heather Topham Wood
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Two years ago, a boy went missing. At the same time, Kate was in a coma. She woke with the knowledge of where the boy was.

Weird, Freak , Mad. Kate got called it all. Due to that, she pretended that it was just a fluke. She didn't have physic ability.

Then a cop turns up, trying to find his girlfriends sister. At first, Kate is adamant she's not getting involved. That is, until she actually gets a vision.

I did like the mystery in this, but throughout the book, it is concentrated more on the jealous girlfriend than it did on the missing sister.

Nikki drove me mad. If your sister went missing, would you be more worried about her, or who your boyfriends getting help off? The majority of people would chose the first option, but Nikki chose the latter.

By the second half of the book, Kate was getting close to him, but Nikki's paranoia and possessiveness started way before that.

What she did to Kate was really really stupid. She didn't even think of the implications it would cause.

When the mystery surrounding the abduction actually did come into it, it was interesting. It did get good at the ending. Mainly because it was more about the abduction than the jealous girlfriend.

I was looking forward to a mystery, but actually got a romance with a little mystery on the side. So if you're looking for a suspenseful mystery, this isn't really the book for you.

Article 5 By Kristen Simmons

Article 5 (Article 5, #1)Article 5 by Kristen Simmons
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I was really looking forward to this one, but it ended up being a real disappointment.

Ember was so annoying, and unbelievably stupid at times.

At many points, Ember stopped Chase from killing people, and whined at what he was about to do if she never stopped him. These people were trying to kill you Ember, And you're moaning at Chase for trying to protect you?!? You're wanted and on the run. It's kill or be killed!

Even though throughout the book, Chase was protecting her, i found myself not liking him. He always passed snide comments about Ember, and most of the time she stood for it. The fact that he lied about the most important thing to her, and led her on a wild goose chase really annoyed me. I know you're trying to protect her Chase, but there's protecting her, and there's pulling the wool over her eyes.

The thing that really topped it off, was the fact that she actually forgave him for it. WHY? WHY WOULD YOU FORGIVE HIM FOR LYING TO YOU ABOUT THAT?

I think the book would have been great, if it wasn't for the annoying/stupid characters.

False Memory By Dan Krokos

False Memory (False Memory, #1)False Memory by Dan Krokos
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This was an interesting read, but it had quiet a few plot holes.

Miranda confronts a security guard, informing him that she's lost her memory. Though, the guard doesn't believe her, and she lets out a power she can't remember having.

I found it really funny how she wondered why the guard didn't believe her.
Erm, Miranda. Not only did you know your name and your age, you also went shopping, and got a bra. Most people who have lost their memory, do not know their name.. let alone their bra size.

I also found the armour they wore annoying. On some occasions it would protect them. It would save you from bullets, and even keep you alive after a stabbing. Although, it couldn't protect you from the knife to begin with, and sometimes, bullets would go straight though.

Overall, it was a good read, but with every twist, came a plot hole.

Rosebush By Michele Jaffe

RosebushRosebush by Michele Jaffe
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really don't know what to think of this.
Some bits were really annoying, but other bits were really really good.

What i didn't like:

The flashbacks - They were very jumpy. Jane would be talking to someone in a flashback, then carry on the conversation she was having in present tense. It made it really confusing at times.

The characters - Jane really annoyed me at the beginning, All she cared about was popularity. On her first day, she locked herself in the schools bathrooms because she wasn't popular like she was at her old school. I only really liked Janes sister and Pete.

"It's just the drugs" - Jane started getting weird gifts signed "A secret admirer" and told everyone she was receiving calls from the attempted killer, But nobody believed her. They all thought the gifts were sweet, and the phone calls were in her head.

What i liked:

"She's the killer!...No, he's the killer!" - I liked how the author made you change your mind who the killer was all the time. I changed my mind about three times, but i never correctly guessed who it was.

The proper killer - I really liked this, but i also really didn't. When the killer was revealed, it was a very big shock. Though, i hated how the character completely changed.

The phonecalls and gifts - This seemed a lot like Pretty Little Liars So if you're a fan of -A, You'll most likely be a fan of "A secret admirer"

I did enjoy this at the end, but i think i preferred the first book i read by Michele Jaffe, which was Ghost Flower.

The Deepest Cut By J.A. Templeton

The Deepest Cut (MacKinnon Curse #1)The Deepest Cut by J.A. Templeton
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Ever since Riley was involved in the car crash that took her mothers life, Riley has been able to see ghosts. When her and her family move to Scotland for a fresh start, Riley meets a ghost who's tied to the land where he died for all eternity, all because of a servant's infatuation.

I only liked Shane and Laria.

Riley annoyed me. As soon as she met Ian, she was obsessed. She fell in love really really quick with a ghost. I know falling in love with a ghost isn't new, i've read countless ghost stories where it happens. That doesn't make it any less weird though. Especially when in this, Ian can actually touch Riley. Even going as far as groping her while she's asleep.

Laria was a creepy, psychotic ghost, Who would do anything to make Riley back off. Her parts were great, but it also made me even more annoyed at Riley. Countless times, Laria tries to seriously harm Riley. People hear banging and come to see if Riley's okay, and she's totally fine. Riley, a ghost just tried to strangle you, and you're not even batting an eyelid!

I really liked Shane. He was so protective of Riley, and so sweet.

Riley's relationship with her dad was non existent. He only popped up now and again to give some fatherly remarks.

The ending did come with a cliffhanger, which does leave you wondering what will happen next. Unfortunately though, i don't think i'll be reading the next installment.

The only ones i liked were Carla and Michael, but even they had their annoying moments.

I was bored through the majority of this.
Loads of people were being killed, but i was still bored.
That might have had something to with how predictable it was, though. It was really obvious who the killer was after a few chapters!

I found book one to be a bit better than book two... but that was probably just because by that point, i'd read more, So i was more bored.

Overall, Okay, but would have been better if it was less predictable.

Blurred By Tara A. Fuller

Blurred (Kissed by Death, #2)Blurred by Tara A. Fuller
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first.

In the first book, i really liked Anaya, so i was really excited to see more of her in this installment.
Unfortunately, my feelings for her changed in this one. I didn't hate her, but i didn't overly like her either.
When her story on how she died was told, i did feel sorry for her. Apart from that though, i didn't connect with her at all.

In the first book, i found Cash to be an okay character, and my opinion on him in Blurred stayed the same.
The thing i like most about Cash, are his shirts. They really make me laugh.
I really loved the one saying "I'm fine" because the situation he was in said otherwise!

I found the revelation with Cash and Anaya really predictable. I could see where it was heading quite early on.

Overall, this was an okay read, but unfortunately was nowhere near as good as book one.

Inbetween By Tara A. Fuller

Inbetween (Kissed by Death, #1)Inbetween by Tara A. Fuller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After being in a car crash two years ago, 17 year old Emma has gone through some very weird, and dangerous events.
The reason why is about to be found out, and answers aren't the only thing Emma will get.
She'll also get the love of her life back.. A love she never knew she had.

While Reaper and human relationships are nothing new, this one was done really well.
I loved how detailed the writing was, it really made things feel real.

Emma and Finn's romance was really sweet. He would do anything to protect her, knowing fair well that it would cause implications for him.

Emma was a pretty good character. She was always there for Cash, even though she had her own problems. She loved Finn almost as much as he loved her. She still wanted to see him more than anything, even though his discovery on her identity was the reason why Maeve was there. She also took her medication even though she knew she never needed it, to give her mother peace of mind.

Maeve was really twisted. She would do anything to kill Emma. I had a feeling that she would do what she did at the end, a few pages before it actually happened. Though, it didn't take anything away from that part, it was still really good.

I loved the ending. LOVED it.
I'll defiantly be reading book two.

Between By Jessica Warman

BetweenBetween by Jessica Warman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

"Between" started out great, and the last fourth of the book was really good. Unfortunately, the middle bit did drag a bit, and felt longer than what it was.
That didn't harm the overall enjoyment of the book that much though.

I really liked how much Liz changed, while trying to solve the mystery.
In the flashbacks, she wasn't a nice person at all. She was bitchy and very selfish.
Though, in the end, it all changed. She started to realize that her actions could have consequences, and popularity wasn't the only thing that counted.

I found the flashbacks were done a lot better than what they were in Breathless.
They weren't jumpy.

One thing that annoyed me, was that the "red head" thing popped up quite early on, but didn't come back into the story until the end.

The revelation about Alex (Liz's partner in the afterlife) shocked me. I didn't expect it.
It actually shocked me more than when Liz's killer was revealed.

Wraith By Angel Lawson

WraithWraith by Angel Lawson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After moving to a new city, Jane finds it hard fitting in at her new school. Everyone thinks she's a freak, and it's all down to her best friend.
Evan's everything she could want in a friend, Kind, protective and always there for her. The problem is, He's dead. Everyone can see Jane talking, but only Jane can see who she's talking too. Then Connor returns to school after being in juvie, and looks straight at Evan..

I really liked Jane and Evans friendship. She accepted him completely. It didn't matter to Jane that he was dead, she saw him for he who he was.

I loved how there wasn't instant attraction to the bad boy. In most books, the girl instantly feels attracted, but in this one Jane actually stayed away. That was, Until Evan wanted her to talk to him.

Evans story was really sad. The stuff him and his family went through was heartbreaking.

The ending was so emotional!

This was a good ghost book, which didn't join the majority of books with insta-love.

Imitation By Heather Hildenbrand

Imitation (Clone Chronicles, #1)Imitation by Heather Hildenbrand
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

"Imitation" reminded me of The Lost Girl, especially at the beginning.
Unfortunately, i found this one to be just as dull as well.

The one thing that really bugged me throughout the book was the tattoos.

Each imitation has a tattoo on their neck in the shape of a tree, with a number next to it.
I found it really odd how the tattoo was somewhere that could easily be seen.
What if the original girl cut her hair really short, just before the imitation took her place? It would be a bit of an awkward situation to explain when, and why you got it.

Later on in the book, there was a imitation that had the tattoo on his wrist, which is even more visible.
Surely, if they had to do something to tell the Imitations and the Authentics apart, it would be something less obvious?
Even if they hid the tattoo somewhere less visible, it would still be a huge giveaway if someone came along who hated imitations, and wanted to kill them all.

Overall, it was quiet boring, and the tattoo issue got on my nerves.

Evolution By Kelly Carrero

Evolution (Evolution, #1)Evolution by Kelly Carrero
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

When Jade saw a cut on her face heal right in front of her eyes, She knows something up.
Then when an incident at school leaves her unscarred, Her boyfriend Aiden shows her life with powers.

This didn't really have much going on. All the way through, i was just hoping that something good would happen soon, but nothing did until the end.

It did pick up at the end though, and left it on a cliffhanger.
Though, it wasn't enough for me too pick up book two.

I wanted to get some answers. Who was this guy? What did he want? Did Jade get her powers from her dad? Unfortunately though, none of these were answered. I was left with more questions than less.

I didn't really like Jade. Through most of the book, she acted aggressive and let her fists do more talking than the her mouth.
Instead of talking to Chrissy about her problems with her, she punched her. This happened about three times. She also banged her neighbours door, shouting at her to answer, instead of letting Aiden do his thing.

Apart from doing that, she didn't really do anything to make me like / dislike her, Because most of the time was spent talking to Aiden, and not showing us who she was.
It is only a short book, but it would have been nice to see a little about what made her, her.

The Blemished By Sarah Dalton

The Blemished (Blemished, #1)The Blemished by Sarah Dalton
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked this one, but the beginning seemed a bit slow.

The characters:

Mina - Mina was a pretty good character. I loved how loyal she was. No matter how much she wanted to fight, she wouldn't do it without her friends.

Angela - I did like her, but she seemed to lack development in some areas. I felt like she was only really there to create another love triangle. I really wish she could of stuck up for Mina more.

Daniel - I liked how protective he was. Really wish we got to see more of his ability.

Sebastian - I liked him at first, but then he started acting shifty.

The teacher - I really didn't like her. She was horrible.

Emily and Billie - Their story was really sad, I felt so sorry for them.

Elena - I hated Elena at first, she acted like a snob. Though, as the story progressed, i had a soft spot for her.

The romance:

I didn't really like the romance. One love triangle is enough, let alone two. (Mina / Daniel / Sebastian and Mina / Angela / Daniel.) While i did like both boys at first, i didn't think that Mina had a good romantic connection with either of them.

I might read book two, but i'm not in a desperate rush.

After the Fear By Rosanne Rivers

After the FearAfter the Fear by Rosanne Rivers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great book filled with action and great characters.

This did remind me a lot like The Hunger Games. Though, i found the ages in After the fear more heartbreaking.
I found 12 in The hunger games, really young to have to fight to the death. Though, in After the fear, Kids as young as 9 are chosen. (Or younger than that, going by Tabby.)
Imagine being 9, and having to kill people to save yourself. Your innocence stolen from you, to pay a debt owed by your nation.

The characters;

I loved Sola, She stayed strong, and fought for her survival, but didn't let her new way of life change who she was.
Her very first fight, she give up her chances of surviving, by helping a young boy instead of getting a good weapon.
A few fights, and quite a large kill count later , Sola never changed. She saved a very little girl from death, even though everything was pointing to her being the twist.

Alixis was kick-ass. Killing someone with a hairpin? Awesome.
I Really wanted to give her a hug when she told Sola her predicament. It was so so sad.

I did really like Dylan, but when he told Sola about why he stayed, it made me like him more. He could have easily changed after what he went through and become a cold blooded killer, but he didn't.

I hated Coral. She was such a bitch. Something didn't go her way so she got her dad to do the most horrible thing imaginable. Her little comments to Sola made her even more of a nasty, vindictive person. I felt sorry for her when her twist come, but she quickly reminded me why i hated her.

The twists;

The twists for the final demonstration were so cruel. Especially Dao's. :(

---

I would have loved to see Solas dad more. To see what he felt watching his daughters fight, and her no gun policy.
I really would have loved to see their reunion.

A Touch of Honor By J.P. Grider

A Touch of Honor (The Honor Trilogy #1)A Touch of Honor by J.P. Grider
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

What would you do if you could feel peoples pain?
How would you feel if you knew you could stop that pain, but in doing so, you knock years of your own life?

Honor is an empath, and that's the situation she's in.

Unfortunately, the story didn't catch my attention, and i ended up bored though most of the book.

Honor was a good person. There aren't many people who would save someone they didn't like, knowing that it would knock years off their own life.
Though, i really wanted to shout at her at times.

She wrote notes in class about what was happening to her, completely forgetting the fact that she could actually get caught.

The whole romance between Honor and Ethan annoyed me.
She found him creepy at first, but then fell in love with him quickly after.
I found Ethan to be a bit too protective. I understand he was trying to save her from an early grave, but i doubt he would like it if she told him who he could touch all the time.

The revelation with Storm was quiet good, but it wasn't enough to make me want to read a sequel.

Hidden Wings By Cameo Renae

Hidden Wings (Hidden Wings, #1)Hidden Wings by Cameo Renae
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

DNF at 55%

The main character annoyed me way too much.

She wakes up in hospital, to the news her parents have died. She has a little moment where she's upset, but that doesn't last long, when she's told where she's going to live.
She completely forgets about her dead parents, and gets upset because she has to move to Alaska.
Yep, moving to Alaska is more upsetting than losing her parents.
Of course, a reason for that is because of her friends, but it's mainly because she thinks there's no hot guys there.

When she's waiting for her guide to take her to her aunts, she has another little moment thinking about her parents. Again, that doesn't last very long, when she sees how hot the guide is, and becomes obsessed with him.

On her 17th birthday, her friend bought her a kindle fire, and downloaded all of his favorite books onto it for her. She hated it, and was really ungrateful.
She done it in quite an immature way as well.
"Something i've always wanted.... not!"
If you don't like reading, fine. Please just appreciate how much thought your friend put into it.

In the End By Tracey Ward

In the End (Quarantined #2)In the End by Tracey Ward
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first.

I still liked Alissa and Jordan, and their banter... but not as much as i did in Until the End.

I didn't really know what to think of Syd. In some parts i liked him, but in others he annoyed me.

The ending was really confusing, and it took me a while to work out who's point of view it was.

Overall, a good read, but also a bit of a disappointment.

Until the End By Tracey Ward

Until the End (Quarantined, #1)Until the End by Tracey Ward
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The action in "Until the end" started pretty early, and it stayed action packed until the end.

The characters were great.
Ali knew how to protect herself, she was amazing at shooting zombies with her bow and arrow. (Katniss may have competition!)
She was also really funny, some of the lines she came out with really made me laugh.

I loved Jordan almost as much. He was really protective of Ali, and understood how vulnerable she really was.

I loved Ali and Jordan together. They were so cute.

Overall, this was a great zombie book, with great characters. I'll defiantly be reading book two.

The Spirit Keeper (The Spirit Keeper, Book 1)The Spirit Keeper by Melissa Luznicky Garrett
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(Actual rating - 1.5)

"The spirit keeper" didn't really catch my attention.
It was really slow, and didn't get interesting until near the end.

I thought some of the stuff Priscilla said was kind of funny, and i did feel sorry for Shyla, but apart from that, none of the characters stood out to me.

Sarah was a pretty average character. I didn't hate her, but i didn't like her, either.

The ending was quiet interesting, but by the time it came, i was just relieved that i was at the end.

The Homecoming Masquerade By Spencer Baum

The Homecoming MasqueradeThe Homecoming Masquerade by Spencer Baum
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

This one was really boring, and most of the time, i felt like putting it down.

Nothing happened. Most of the time we were in the past, finding out what the network was.
Due to that, the characters never had time to do something interesting, so it got boring, very fast.

The only character who i really noticed was Kim, and that wasn't in a good way.
I didn't like her at all. She was mean, annoying, and thought way too much of herself.

This wasn't so much of a story, but info dumps one after the other.

Another Little Piece By Kate Karyus Quinn

Another Little PieceAnother Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I really don't know what to think of "Another little piece"

On one hand, i really liked it, but on the other, i found it really confusing and hard to follow.

The bits that weren't confusing, were done really well.
I had a feeling what had happened quite early on, but that didn't stop me enjoying the mystery.
I still don't get why Annaliese would sacrifice something so huge, for something so little, though.

Overall, this was a rather strange book, but the bits that were clear, were done well enough to keep me interested.

Lonely Souls By Karice Bolton

Lonely Souls (The Witch Avenue, #1)Lonely Souls by Karice Bolton
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I didn't enjoy this one at all.

I was bored by the 15% mark, and it got worse from there.

I didn't get along with any of the characters. They were dull, and annoying.
I found it ridiculous how they all jumped to conclusions when it come to Triss's love life.
One of her male friends calls her "hun" so Logan automatically assumes it's her boyfriend. Then, her friends see Logan, and they assume he's her boyfriend.

Triss was the worst character out of the lot. She annoyed me way too much.

I was really glad to see the end.. I thought it would never come!

Gifts of the Blood By Vicki Keire

Gifts of the Blood (Gifted Blood #1)Gifts of the Blood by Vicki Keire
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I usually really like books about drawing the future. I find them really interesting.
Though, this one didn't deliver, and was more about angels than her gift.

I did like the relationship between Caspia and her brother, but it seemed like they didn't really spend time together.
Caspia did say numerous times how she was going to spend more time with him, but she never did.
She was either at school, working, or painting tarot cards.

The pacing was really slow. I was really really bored and just wanted something interesting to happen.

I have no desire at all to read book two.

Meant to Be By Tiffany King

Meant to Be (The Saving Angels, #1)Meant to Be by Tiffany King
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This was a bit of a boring one.
There was no action at all until the 70% mark, and when it did come, i was too bored for it to make much of an impact.

The romance in this annoyed me a bit. It was like the majority of YA books where the main character can't live without her crush, but in this one, it took it to the extreme.
They literally couldn't live without each other, and at times it really did wear thin.

The characters were pretty average. I didn't dislike them, but i didn't love them either.
I liked Sam the best, but she still wasn't a character i really connected with.

Betwixt By Melissa Pearl

BetwixtBetwixt by Melissa Pearl
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(Actual rating - 3.5)

At first, i didn't like Nicole, and i really didn't like her friends.
Her friends stayed the same throughout the book, but Nicole changed for the better.

Once she realized that her "friends" and her were two faced and bitchy, her real personality started to come through. She realized she could be a better person, and have friends that could actually see the real her.

I really liked Dale, He was really sweet.
I felt so sorry for him when he told Nicole how he got his scar. It must have been so awful for him.

Overall, "Betwixt" was a quick read that was really enjoyable.
