The Monster Within By Kelley Hashway

The Monster WithinThe Monster Within by Kelly Hashway
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Actual rating - 2.5

The Monster Within started out okay, but i quickly got bored.

I didn't really like Sam. All her lying done my head in!
I can understand why she would find it hard to tell someone that she's killing people, but if that someone is the one who bought her back, why didn't she say something to him? He has obviously dabbled in witchcraft, as he found someone to bring her back to life, and if she wasn't bought back to life, she wouldn't be killing people!
She was also quite slow. At first, it was a bit hard to work out which person was lying to her, so i could understand why she was confused... but as the story progressed, it was really obvious!

I hated how there wasn't any proper answers until 84%. It made the book drag even more.
Every time Sam bought the "How did you get me back" question up, Ethan refused to tell her.

I was really glad when i got to the ending, even if it was all slightly unbelievable!

Overall, slow.
It felt a lot longer than 300 pages!

The Dare By Hannah Jayne

The DareThe Dare by Hannah Jayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

The Dare was an okay read, but it got dragged out more than it needed too.

I felt really sorry for Brynna...everything she went through must have been awful.

I liked Evan to start with, but he started to really annoy me when he was trying to find out what had happened to Brynna. I get that he cared for her, and wanted to know what was troubling her so badly, but he was so pushy! He did get better after that, but his pushiness done my head in.
All the other characters were alright, but i can't say i loved any of them.

The first chapter of this was really good, and so was the last 10%... but everything else was boring. It was dragged out too much, and when stuff actually happened, i couldn't get interested in it.

Overall, Started and ended good, but everything in between was too slow.

Far From You By Tess Sharpe

Far From YouFar From You by Tess Sharpe
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Far From You was an okay read, but it dragged a bit.

I felt really sorry for Sophie. All the pain she went through after the accident was horrible, and then to get an addiction from it must have been awful for her, especially when that addiction caused her to get the blamed for her best friends murder!

The writing in this was quite jumpy. Sometimes it was hard to follow because of the constant jumping between the present, and when she was 16/14/ect.

I didn't guess who the killer was, because it ended up being someone quite random!

Overall, alright, but a bit confusing.
If you liked Dangerous Girls, then you'll probably like this, as it has a similar writing style.

Burn For Burn By Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian

Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn, #1)Burn for Burn by Jenny Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 3.5

Burn for Burn was an okay read, but it started out quite slow.

I felt really sorry for Mary. That day must have been awful for her, it was so embarrassing!
I felt sorry for Kat too. I've had "friends" cut me off like that before too, and it really isn't nice!
I could see where Lilia was coming from with her reason for revenge, but i thought it was a bit silly that she didn't investigate the matter beforehand.

The ending was weird! I really don't get why the authors thought that adding a paranormal twist was needed. It felt like it was just thrown in there, and it didn't fit in well at all.
Contemporary and Paranormal do not make a good combo!

Overall, an enjoyable read, but had such a weird ending!

We'll Always Have Summer By Jenny Han

We'll Always Have Summer (Summer, #3)We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 4.5

We'll Always Have Summer was by far the best in the series!

I liked Belly again in this book, and i felt really sorry for her when she found out what had happened.

In the last two books, i liked Jeremiah the most... but in this book, it was Conrad.
After the way Jeremiah acted, i couldn't like him like i did before. Conrad could be an ass in the other two books, but in this one i really liked him.

The ending was really really good!
It ended perfectly, and Susannah's letter to her made me cry!

Overall, a really good read.

It's Not Summer Without You By Jenny Han

It's Not Summer Without You (Summer, #2)It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's Not Summer Without You was a lot better than the first one!

I liked Belly a lot more than i did in the first. She still had annoying moments, but there wasn't a many.
In the last book, it showed flashbacks of her at different ages, and there wasn't that much change in her maturity through the years! In this one though, she was much more mature.

I really liked how the love triangle between Belly and the brothers ended. She chose my favorite one out of the two!

Overall, a good quick read.
I'm looking forward to reading book 3!

The Summer I Turned Pretty By Jenny han

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer, #1)The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Summer I Turned Pretty started out okay, but i lost interest after a few chapters.

It's not nice to be an outsider, so i felt really sorry for Belly when the boys pushed her away all the time... but when she constantly whined about it, it got quite annoying.
She was a bit slow to catch on as well. I had suspicions about what was happening to Susannah, but the closest Belly got to it was noticing that something was up... then she forgot about it.

The pacing was quite slow, so there was times where i got really bored.

Overall, okay, but a bit too slow.

Living Dead In Dallas By Charlaine Harris

Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie Stackhouse, #2)Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Living Dead in Dallas was an okay read, but i didn't like it as much as the first.

I liked Sookie again in this book, but just like in book one, she had her annoying moments. She had more of them in this installment, unfortunately!

The book started out really good, but i started to get bored about halfway. There was loads of dull bits in that half, so i lost interest in the book.

Overall, alright, but i lost interest.

Dead Until Dark By Charlaine Harris

Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, #1)Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actual Rating - 3.5

Dead Until Dark was a good read, but it had a few slow patches.

I liked Sookie. Being able to hear everyone else's thought would do my head in, so i don't envy her for having that ability! Especially when people call her "Crazy Sookie" because of it.
There was times where Sookie annoyed me, but thankfully there wasn't many.

The pacing was a little slow in areas, so it sometimes started to drag. Apart from that though, it was fine.

Overall, a good series opener.

Dear Killer By Katherine Ewell

Dear KillerDear Killer by Katherine Ewell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Dear Killer started out okay, but i lost interest.

Kit was a really hard character to connect too. Her constant change of mind got annoying. One minute she would be feeling remorseful, the next minute, she would be killing again, and finding nothing wrong with it.
Her nickname was "The perfect killer", but she made so many mistakes, that i found it hard to believe that she was perfect at it.

The pacing was fine to start with, but as the story progressed, it started to drag out.
If it had stayed like it was at the start, and Kit was a better character, i probably would have enjoyed it more.

Overall, alright, but dragged out a bit too much.

Sleep No More By Aprilynne Pike

Sleep No MoreSleep No More by Aprilynne Pike
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sleep No More was an okay read, but i started to get bored at the halfway mark.

I felt really sorry for Charlotte. Being able to see how people were going to die would be horrible, especially if the person was murdered!
I wouldn't have been able to cope knowing that i could have changed someones future... but wasn't allowed to.

I guessed who the killer was, so i wasn't shocked when it was revealed, but it took ages for Charlotte to work it out.

The pacing was alright to start with, but the second half dragged.
I don't know if it was because i had suspicions about who the killer was... or if it was just slow.

Overall, okay, but a bit slow and predictable.

Uninvited (Uninvited, #1)Uninvited by Sophie Jordan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 3.5

Uninvited was a good read, but it had a few slow patches.

Davy was an okay character, but she could be a bit annoying at times.
Sean told her many times that she needed to be more careful, and needed to realize what other carriers were capable of, but she never listened.

The pacing could be quite slow at times, which made it slightly boring.
If it wasn't dragged out at much, i would have rated it a solid four.

Overall, good, but a bit too slow.

I really liked the first one in this series, but this one was was boring.

Noli was an okay character in the last book, but in this one, i didn't like her.
She whined a lot, and had loads of annoying moments.
I didn't really like any of the other characters either. The one i liked the most in the last book wasn't in this one for very long!

I spent the majority of the book bored. The story just didn't interest me at all.
There was only one bit that i found slightly interesting, which is really bad for a book this long!

Overall, disappointing.

Harp's Song By Cassie Shine

Harp's Song (Harp's Song #1)Harp's Song by Cassie Shine
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Actual rating - 2.5

Harp's Song started out okay, but i lost interest.

I liked Harp in the beginning, but later on in the book she annoyed me.
I can understand why she acted out after hearing what her mother told her, but it annoyed me. Her character completely changed in those scenes, and i missed the old Harp.

What her mother went through was awful, but when she went from being hateful towards Harp, to being loving towards her, i found it unbelievable. She did a complete U-turn!
I really couldn't get to grips with how she changed so easily.

There was another moment that i found unbelievable too, which happened just before she started to go off the rails.

Overall, Okay, but had a few unbelievable moments.

Pushed was such a good sequel!
At first, i didn't think it was as good as the first, but as the story progressed, my opinion totally changed!

Remy was a great character again... but there was a few times where she was slow to catch on.
I loved Ben, Laura and Lucy again as well. They wasn't in it for a huge chunk of the book, and i really missed them.

The ending had me crying.
Seriously..

Touched By Corrine Jackson

Touched (Sense Thieves, #1)Touched by Corrine Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really liked this one!

Remy was a really good character. I felt so sorry for her, she went through so much! I really loved how she managed to stay strong.
I loved the rest of the family too (Her fathers side, obviously!) I thought Lucy would be a bit nasty towards to Remy, since the sister she never met was coming to live with her... but she was really sweet!

I didn't think i would like Asher that much, but i did! I loved the thing he called her, it was sweet.

There was one bit in the book where i started to get bored, but after a few chapters, i started to really enjoy it again.

Overall, an enjoyable read with some really good characters.

Smashed was an okay read, but it wasn't as good as i expected it to be.

I felt sorry for Katie, i really did. What happened to her was awful, and i wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I kept on hoping she would stay away from Alec, as you could tell from the start he was a bad apple... but unfortunately, she carried on hanging out with him, until he went to far.

I did get quite bored throughout the book, as it took ages for it to get to the tipping point.
It didn't happen until near the end, so it was quite slow until that point.

Overall, okay, but took a bit too long to get to the main point in the story.

Vengeance was an okay read, but it wasn't as good as the first.

Decker drove me mad for the the majority of the book.
I can understand why he would be mad at Delaney, but he was a bit too harsh. When Delaney told him why she did it, he still treated her badly, and it really annoyed me.

The pacing in this was quite slow, and there were points where i felt really bored.
It was dragged out way too much!

Overall, Okay, but would have been a lot better if it didn't drag as much.

Actual rating - 3.5 / Original rating - 3.

This is my second time reading this, and i liked it a bit more this time around.

I liked Grace, even though she made a few silly decisions.
Grace loved reading, and i liked her more because of it. She didn't mention it too much, so it didn't get annoying like it can be in some books. (I'm looking at you, Obsidian)

The pacing was quite slow, but it wasn't dull, so my enjoyment didn't suffer because of it.

Overall, an enjoyable read.
I'll be rereading the other two at some point!

Innocent Darkness was a good read, but it had a few slow patches.

Noli made some stupid decisions and could be slightly annoying at times, but other than that she was an okay character.
I felt sorry for her in the beginning, the reform school wasn't very nice at all.

The character that i felt sorry for the most was Charlotte. Being in the reform school isn't a great place to be, but when her home life was revealed, you could see why she didn't really want to leave.

The pacing could be quite slow in some areas, but other than that it was an enjoyable read.

Dinah really annoyed me in the beginning because she wouldn't stop whining! I can understand why she wouldn't be very pleased with the new arrival, but it really started doing my head in when she wouldn't stop.

The thing i liked most about her was her determination to save the person she loved.

The character that i hated the most was Will. He was such an ass!

Compulsion started out quite boring, and unfortunately, it got worse as it progressed.
It was really hard to follow in the beginning, so i spent the majority of the first quarter being confused!

Barrie drove me mad most of the time, because she didn't explain anything! She would make comments about something, and then move on and forget about it.

The pacing in this was just too slow for me, and spending the first quarter of the book confused didn't help.

The Girl with the Blood Red Lips started out okay, but i quickly got bored. (And hungry!)

I didn't really like Neva.
She was really naive, and had annoying moments. I did feel sorry for her though - Doing the same three years at school over and over again would be torture!

The other characters weren't very good either. They were either annoying, horrible or weird.

This book had a major thing about food.
Within 30%, food (besides apples) had been mentioned several times, and it was just getting ridiculous. It was making me feel so hungry!

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I didn't enjoy this one at all.
It was way too young for me.

I didn't like Cammie.
For someone who was supposed to be really clever, you would think she would know that another bed coming into her room meant that another person was coming to stay there... especially when just before this happened, she was on about how good it was that there was only 3 girls in her room, when there should have been 4.

This book didn't focus much on the spying... it was more about Cammie's love life.
It made it even more dull, as i really didn't care about it.

Dead Girls Walking was just as bad as the first one.

The characters were the same, and they were their usual annoying selves.
Unfortunately, there was a new girl in their group, and she was just as bad.

The jokes in the last one were cringe worthy, and i didn't think they could get any worse.... but they did.

The ending was rubbish, yet again.
It ended on a cliffhanger, and didn't wrap the investigation up.
I wasn't impressed, as i have no intention on continuing the series.

They all tried really hard to be funny, but everything they said just made me cringe.

The character that i hated the most was Charlotte.
She wouldn't shut up about her boyfriend in the beginning, even though she mentioned not long before that she hated those kind of girls. She still went on about him throughout the story, and it got old really fast.

Cassie's chapters could be boring at times, but it was nothing compared to Zombie's chapters.
I found most of his chapters really boring, and i didn't like him. Every time a chapter was from his point of view, i was really annoyed!

Usually, Main characters in books like these come off as robotic. That isn't a surprise, since that's what they're supposed to be like, but it makes the character really dull and hard to connect too.
Mila wasn't like that, so it was a lot easier to like her.
