(Never) Again (Again, #1) By Theresa Paolo

(Never) Again (Again, #1)(Never) Again by Theresa Paolo
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 2.5

(Never) Again dragged. I'm glad it was only short!

I can't say i liked any of the characters.
Liz annoyed me. All she did was moan about how Zach left her, and kept wondering why he did it. Why she couldn't just ask him is beyond me. The love interestes weren't any better. They both had moments where they were arses, and Zach's excuse for not phoning her was a load of crap.

The book was dull and repetitive, and i couldn't wait to finish it.

Memoirs of a Teenage AmnesiacMemoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac was an okay read, but it bored me at times.

I felt sorry for Naomi for being in the prediciment she was in, but i couldnt warm to her character enough to like her.

The pacing in this was quite slow, and at times i felt bored. I kept hoping that things would move along faster than what they were, but they never really did.

Overall, Okay, but a bit slow.

Soulprint By Megan Miranda

SoulprintSoulprint by Megan Miranda
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Soulprint dragged too much for me.

I felt sorry for Alina. Being imprisoned and having your freedom taken away from you for something that you had no control over is awful. I felt sorry for her parents too. They knew what sort of life she would have, and they tried their best to stop it from happening. It must have been horrible for them knowing they hadn't saved her.

The pacing in this was really really slow, and i was bored becuase of it. The storyline interested me to start with, but the level of interest dropped with every chapter. I just really wanted the story to get on with it, and stop dragging!

Overall, Alright, but too slow.

You'll Always Be Mine: The Cellar SequelYou'll Always Be Mine: The Cellar Sequel by Natasha Preston
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

You'll always be mine was an okay sequel.

Summer came off as a bit stupid in this one again. Threatening to go out on her own again when that was how she got kidnapped in the first book was ridiculous.

Overall, The main character continued to be stupid, but it was worth the read.

The Cellar By Natasha Preston

The CellarThe Cellar by Natasha Preston
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

The Cellar was an okay read.

Summer wasn't very clever in this. Not only did she not listen to people warning her to be careful when she went out on her own, but she didn't listen to what the other girls were saying either.
They tried to tell her numerous times what Clover was like, but she never believed it. She asked stupid questions when it was obvious what the answer was, and she didn't understand how the other girls could talk/act so calmly around Clover.

There was something at the end that really annoyed me, but other than that it was alright.

Overall, Okay read, but the ending was annoying.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 3.5

Being Sloane Jacobs was a decent read.

This book was a lot like the movie "The Parent Trap"!

Sloane and Sloane were both okay characters, but i did wonder where their brains had disappeared to when they made the descision to switch!
Apart from both sports being on ice, they wasn't very similar to each other. I really didn't get how they thought they'd be able to master the skill and fool the other players when they knew nothing of the sport.

Overall, an enjoyable read.

Through to You By Lauren Barnholdt

Through to YouThrough to You by Lauren Barnholdt
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Through to You bored me unfortunately.

I didn't like Harper. She annoyed me at the start, and she got worse as the book progressed. Penn wasn't much better, but he didn't annoy me as much as her.

I felt bored for the majority of the book unfortunately. I didn't care about anything that happened, and i didn't care for the characters.
The ending was okay, but i was just glad to finish it!

Overall, Boring, with unlikeable characters.

Stone Faced Angel (Stone Angels, #1) By Marie McKean

Stone Faced Angel (Stone Angels, #1)Stone Faced Angel by Marie McKean
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, In exchange for an honest review.)

Stone Faced Angel was an okay read, but i was bored at points.

At first, i didn't really like Maura. I felt sorry for her becuase of the situation she was in, and it was good to see that she didn't take Leona's kindness for granted, but other than that i found her to be slightly off. After a while, i started to warm to her. I still didn't love her by the end, but i liked her.
Brandon was an okay character, but i didn't like when the book was from his point of view. Even though i didn't really like Maura at the start, i thought the story improved when it switched to her point of view.

There was a few times where i felt bored, as the pacing could be quite slow. The book just couldn't keep my attention for longer than a few chapters at a time.

The ending was the best bit for me. I didn't expect that outcome!

Overall, An okay read with a good ending.

Dorothy Must Die (Dorothy Must Die, #1) By Danielle Paige

Dorothy Must Die (Dorothy Must Die, #1)Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dorothy Must Die was a good read.

I felt sorry for Amy. She went from being bullied and havng a rubbish home life, to being in a no win sitaution. Death or a high possibity of death isn't a great choice!
Dorothy was even worse in this than she was in the prequel. She was so evil!

There was a few twists in this that i didn't see coming, and most of the time i enjoyed reading the story. At times though, the book felt never ending.

Overall, a great retelling of the Wizard of Oz.

No Place Like Oz (Dorothy Must Die #0.1) By Danielle Paige

No Place Like Oz (Dorothy Must Die #0.1)No Place Like Oz by Danielle Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

No Place Like Oz was a really good read!

I felt quite sorry for Dorothy in the beginning. The girls she called her friends were awful. Laughing at her birthday present becuase it wasn't expensive, and laughing at her stories of Oz were a really horrible thing to do, and was defiantly not the behaviour of a friend. I understand that her stories of Oz would be really unbelievable, but there was no need to laugh about it.

I felt really sorry for Aunt Em. She couldn't afford to buy Dorothy an expensive dress like she wanted, so tried her best to make one of her old dresses look special. She must have been heartbroken, embarresed and felt hopeless when everyone started laughing at it. I felt even more sorry for her when the power of Oz went to Dorothy's head, as she was the one that she was taking it out on most!

The author did a brilliant job recreating the world of the wizard of Oz.

Overall, A great retelling of the wizard of Oz!

Landry Park was an okay read.

I felt sorry for Madeline. She couldn't do what she wanted to with her life, because her father wouldn't let her. Instead, she was expected to marry - Something she didn't want to do so early.

The pacing in this was alright, but i felt bored at times.

Overall, An okay read, but had a few slow parts.

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Saving Grace Devine wasn't a very enjoyable read for me unfortunately.

The main character wasn't awful, but she wasn't a character that i liked or could connect too.
There wasn't a character in this that i actually liked. They were pretty odd, boring, or just hard to like.

This one just couldn't keep my interest. The first few chapters were pretty slow, and the rest of it dragged quite badly. I wanted the book to end by the time i got halfway.

Overall, Slow and dull.

Dream Student (Dreams, #1)Dream Student by J.J. DiBenedetto
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

After reading the first chapter, i thought this book would drag, and be a very long read. Unfortunately, i was right.

Sara irritated me throughout the book, and the way she described everything more than she needed to annoyed me to no end.
The other characters weren't great either.

Due to the fact i didn't like the characters, i didn't like the romance. It really didn't help that after 72 hours, they said "I love you"!

This really dragged after one chapter, and it continued doing so for the rest of the book. I spent all of the book wishing it would end!
When the end did come, i was really relieved.

Overall, Dragged far too much, and didn't have any good characters.

Scratch By Rhonda Helms

ScratchScratch by Rhonda Helms
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Scratch was an alright read, but it felt longer than what it was.

I could understand why Casey found it hard to open up about her past, and why she'd find it difficult to trust Daniel. Though, at times, i really wished that she would let him in more.

There were a few times where i felt bored while reading this, as the story moved along quite slowly. I found the first 25% to be the slowest part. After that, it wasn't quite so bad.

Overall, Dragged out a bit too much, but was an okay read.

Dehumanize Us was an okay read, but it dragged at times.

Circe was an alright character, but i can't say i liked her all that much. She could be slightly annoying, and i found her to be a bit naive at points.
The other characters were the same. None of them really stood out for me.

The first five chapters of this were quite good, but after that it started to drag. It picked up in areas, but i just couldn't get interested in the story enough to really like it.

Overall, Not awful, but not great.

Promposal By Rhonda Helms

PromposalPromposal by Rhonda Helms
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review.)

Promposal was an alright read, but it wasn't great.

Camilla and Joshua were okay characters, but i didn't love them. I did feel quite sorry for them both though.
Having a crush on one of your good friends, and watching them trying to come up with the perfect promposal for another guy wouldn't be very nice.
I would have died from embarressment if i was Camilla. Having a promposal from a guy you didn't really like, in front of a news crew would be awful! When a girl said it was "The most romantic thing she'd seen in her life" i strongly disagreed. Being pressured into saying yes becuase it's going to be on TV, is anything but romantic!

I don't get why all these students loved the idea of a promposal so much to be honest. What's wrong with people just saying "Would you like to go to prom with me?" why do they find the need to show off and go over the top?!

Overall, an okay read, but the whole promposal thing didn't do it for me.

Actual rating - 3.5

Puppet was a decent read.

I felt really sorry for Pen. The poor girl just couldn't catch a break! It was one bad thing after another for her, and i really wanted her to have a bit of good luck for a change.
I felt a bit sorry for her when she chose a middle name for herself as well. Penelope Mae Trump really doesn't go well together!

There was a few times where i started to lose interest a bit, but something always happened shortly after, so it wasn't too bad.

Overall, a good retelling.

Soulless was an okay read, but the middle dragged.

I liked Nora, and i found her past interesting. I really liked the mystery surrounding her past relationship with Theron!

This started out quite good, and even though it reminded me of a few other books, i was enjoying it. It started to drag in the middle though, and i felt quite bored because of it. It picked up again near the end, thankfully, but i couldn't get interested enough to love it.

Overall, An okay read with interesting characters, but was a bit too slow.

The Truth About Faking (The Truth, #1) By Leigh Talbert Moore

The Truth About Faking (The Truth, #1)The Truth About Faking by Leigh Talbert Moore
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The Truth About Faking bored me.

Harley annoyed me most of the time.
Her fixation with Trent irritated me, and i really didn't get why she was so obsessed with the idea of him being the one.
I didn't really like any of the other characters either. They were either annoying, dull, or both.

I was bored for the majority of the book, and it felt a lot longer than what it was because of it. The ending was probably the least dull part in the whole thing , but i was so relieved that i was finished, that i didn't really care.

Overall, Dull, and had annoying characters.

Blood Entwines bored me from the start, unfortunately.

Kara annoyed me in the first chapter, because she kept on repeating "Ben Shepard" After reading the name four times, it got really irritating. She had a few more annoying moments throughout the book, but other than that she was an okay character.

The beginning of this was quite confusing, as it kept jumping between characters without any warning. It would take me a few seconds to work out who the story was following at times. As for the rest of the book, i spent the majority of it bored.

Overall, Boring, annoying, and confusing.

Trial by Fire (The Worldwalker Trilogy, #1)Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Actual rating - 2.5

Trial by Fire started out okay, but i lost interest.

Lily wasn't an awful character, but she could be quite annoying and naive at times.
She had allergic reactions to almost everything, but she wasn't very clever when it came to avoiding the things that made her have a reaction. She went to a party, and told someone she wanted a drink of water. He came back with another drink and told her he had no water left, (Does he not have a tap?!) and she took it off him and drank it. How stupid can you get? You're allergic to alcohol - you shouldn't take drinks that you haven't made yourself/Watched them be made!

The pacing in this was really slow, so the majority of the book dragged. It felt like the book would never end!

Overall, Boring.
The authors other series wasn't fantastic, but it was better than this!

Saving Wishes (Wishes, #1)Saving Wishes by G.J. Walker-Smith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Saving Wishes was a good read.

I liked Charli. She put up a tough front, but underneath it, she was funny, sweet, and a really likable character. Her french classes got me laughing quite a few times, and i could understand why she hated them so much. I was so bad at French and Spanish at school!

I liked most of the other characters too, apart from "The beautiful's" and her apparent best friend. I really didn't like her by the end of the book!

The pacing was good, and the twist in this was great. I didn't see it coming at all!

Overall, A great YA contemporary/Romance.

Pivot Point started out okay, but i lost interest.

The decision Addie had to make was a hard one, and i felt sorry for her because of it. That being said though, i didn't really like her character.
There wasn't anything wrong with her, but other than feeling sorry for her for the situation she was in, i felt nothing for her.

I liked this to start with, but around halfway i felt really bored. It felt like the book would never end.

Every Little Piece was a good read.

I liked Haley, and felt really sorry for her. Carrying all that guilt around would be horrendous.
I liked Seth too, but there was one time where he really annoyed me. Saying "Shit happens" is one of the worst things you could say after what happened!

There was one chapter in this that made me go from teary to happy in two seconds. I felt so relieved!

Overall, a good read, that made me teary!

Shadow and Bone was a really good read!

I loved Alina. She was a really good character, and could be quite feisty!
I couldn't make my mind up about Mal. One minute he was sweet, the next minute he was quite nasty and cold.

The pacing was perfect. It was slow enough that it wasn't rushed, but fast enough that i didn't get bored.

I didn't expect to like this one as much as i did. I'm looking forward to the other two books now!

Overall, A great read.
