Dying To Forget by Trish Marie Dawson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
When Piper wakes up after committing suicide, she's confused, and surprised at where she is.
She's not in Heaven, or hell. Instead, she's in a station.
Then things become even more confusing, when a man claiming to be her mentor turns up.
Piper has no idea what he's there to mentor her for.. But that all becomes clear when she's given two options.
She can try and stop people from committing suicide, or opt out, Spending eternity feeling everything she felt before she died.
I thought the options were quite tough. Helping somebody through suicide thoughts, like what you just acted on, or spend all eternity feeling what lead you to killing yourself.
Either way it's a battle, but Piper doesn't see moving on as an option. If she's got no choice in facing her issues, she may as well help people in the process.
Some of the stories were quite sad. They dealt with issues that unfortunately, happen every day.
Just as Piper thought the people she was helping was getting their lives on track, something popped up, ready to put them back into thinking suicidal thoughts.
Overall, this was a pretty good book, Full of hard hitting issues that happen far too much in reality.
