The Raft By S.A. Bodeen

The RaftThe Raft by S.A. Bodeen
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

The Raft was dull, and had a main character that could be very dumb at times.

Robie had a survival guide with her, and it told her not to eat food if there wasn't any drinkable water near by.
She thought it was stupid, and told herself she'd eat anyway.
Does she not realize that dehydration kills quicker than starvation, and eating food would just make her more thirsty?

I found it stupid that she didn't really want to eat the purple skittles she found, because she didn't like them. Unless you're severely allergic to something, you'd eat anything if you were starving... So why was she complaining about purple skittles?

It was also really ridiculous when she was thinking about the thing that she would need the most.
You'd think her first answer would be something that would help her survive, right? Maybe something to purify salt water, so she'd have all the drinkable water she'd want? Any person in this situation would say that, but not Robie. The purification thing was actually her third thought... Her first, was lip balm.

There was a few scenes in the book that really broke my heart. They didn't have anything to do with Robie though, they were all about the animals.
The seal story was horrible.
I think it was only there to fill the pages, and/or for shock value.
I felt like skipping a couple of pages so i wouldn't have to read it.
It was awful.

Overall, this was a disappointing read. I'm really glad it was short, because i don't think i could have read much more.
