This wasn't an awful read, but boy, was it slow!
Alice was an okay character, but I can't say that I loved her. I did feel sorry for her at the start though. Her birthday really wasn't one she'd like to remember, but one she would never forget.
The other characters weren't ones I could warm to enough to like.
The main problem I had with this was the pacing. After the first chapter, the story went downhill, as it was really really slow.
I might read the next book in the series, but I need a break first.
