Pride (Shifters #3) By Rachel Vincent

Pride (Shifters, #3)Pride by Rachel Vincent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Actual rating - 3.5

Pride was a good read, but i didn't like it as much as the last two books in the series.

Faythe was an okay character, but i didn't like her as much this time.

The pacing was okay, but i got bored of the trial stuff at times. It was repetitive at times, and for most of it, dull.

Overall, Good, but defiantly not as good as book one.

Rival By Penelope Douglas

Rival (Fall Away, #2)Rival by Penelope Douglas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Actual rating - 3.5

Rival was a decent addition to the series.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Madoc in the first book, and i didn't like him very much in this one either at the start. He grew on my near the end though, but not as much as Jared did in book one.
I know him and Fallon aren't actually related, but i still found their relationship to be quite weird because of their connection to each other.

There was a few parts in this that were quite slow, but thankfully they didn't last too long, so i didn't get bored.

Overall, an okay read, but not as good as book one.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

Actual rating - 2.5

MELT was an okay read, but it dragged at times.

Dorothy and Joey were both okay characters, but i didn't love them. I did feel sorry for Joey and his mum though, as the situation they were in was horrible.

Joey's chapters were quite confusing at first, as they were written in verse, and his thought's were all over the place. After a few chapters though, i got used to it, and i understood why it was written that way.

Apart from Dorothy being called Dorothy, and each part named something like "The great Oz" i didn't see how this was a retelling of the wizard of oz - even after reading the Q&A at the end.

The ending was left open, and it really annoyed me. It left me with so many questions!

Overall, an okay read, but slow, and had an annoying ending.

Truly, Madly, Deadly By Hannah Jayne

Truly, Madly, DeadlyTruly, Madly, Deadly by Hannah Jayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Truly, Madly, Deadly was an okay read, but it had a few slow patches.

Sawyer was an alright character, and i felt sorry for her. What she was going through was horrible, and what her "admirer" was doing for her was quite creepy.

The pacing was a little too slow for me in this, so there were times where i was bored.

I had a feeling who the killer was about halfway, and i guessed correctly. The ending probably would have been a bit better if i didn't guess who it was.

Overall, Okay, but not fantastic.

I didn't enjoy this at all, unfortunately.

I didn't like any of the characters. They all had annoying moments, and they could be quite stupid.
Honestly, all the characters could have died, and i wouldn't have cared.

The pacing in this was slow, and i just couldn't get interested in it.
I wanted this book to end before i'd even gotten to 10%, which is really really bad!

Overall, not impressed.

I Want It That Way By Ann Aguirre

I Want It That Way (2B Trilogy #1)I Want It That Way by Ann Aguirre
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

(I received a copy from Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.)

I Want It That Way was an okay read, but it dragged in places.

Nadia and Ty were both alright characters, but there was a few moments where they were quite stupid.
When Ty explained to Nadia that he didn't want to get involved with anyone sexually or romantically because of Sam, she agreed with him... but then she started to cuddle him and play with his hair. When you're both attracted to each other, but it can't happen, that's the last thing you want to do!

The pacing to this was quite slow at the start, and it didn't really improve until the last 20% or so. There was a few parts where i felt bored because of that.

Overall, an okay read, but a bit slow.

The Break-Up Artist was an okay read, but it took a while to get going.

I can't make up my mind about Becca. She was an okay character a lot of the times, but other times i found her really really annoying.
I thought it was a bit silly that she was breaking up couples, but i could understand why she wanted to do it.
At one point, she wasn't a very good friend, and it really annoyed me how she went behind her back like that.

This started out rather slow, and i felt quite bored. It picked up in the second half, but i still wasn't loving it.

Overall, an okay read.

I really liked Bully, but this one dragged. There was very few new parts, so it felt like i was rereading the first. Since i only read the first a few days ago, it bored me.

Jared was a horrible character in book one, but i did start liking him at the end. In this one though, i thought he was worse.

Let's Get Lost wasn't a book for me.

The characters all had different personalities, and were completely different to each other. I can't say i liked any of them though.
Out of all of them, my least favorite character was Bree. She was nuts! The things she did were either illegal, or just plain stupid.

There was so many ridiculous things in this, and i was getting seriously annoyed by them by the time i got halfway. Most of these things were done by Bree, but the other characters all contributed.

Overall, Ridiculous, Crazy, and had annoying characters.

Bully was a good read.

I liked Tate.
Bullying is awful, and since it was her old best friend that was doing it to her made it even worse. I really liked it when she started to stand up to him, and some of the things she did to get him to stop what he was doing were quite clever!

I hated Jared at first because he was being awful to Tate, so it was really surprising that i actually started to like him at the end!

Overall, a good NA book.

Where You'll Find Me was a good read.

Hanley and Nate were both good characters, and i really liked them.
I had my suspicions on what Nate did, but i wanted to know for sure, so the suspense of it was driving me crazy.
I had my suspicions with Hanley too, but again, i wanted to know for sure. Her secret was revealed earlier though, so it wasn't quite so bad!

Britt annoyed me plenty of times.
She said things she shouldn't have, When offered a pair of dry socks from her captor (her socks were soaking wet) she refused because she wanted to make a stand. (She obviously wasn't worried about frostbite!) and was just generally annoying.

The pacing in this was too slow, so it dragged.

Sarah was a strong character, and i liked her.
She was a good mum, and i really liked the relationship she had with her brother.

I hated Paul. I kept thinking that he couldn't get worse, but he always did!

I really liked this to start with, but it started to drag at 40%.
It got better near the end, but the slow patch lasted so long that it didn't really revive the story for me.

In the first half he was an interesting character, but in the second half he annoyed me. He went from having no feelings at all so he could get to his target and do his job quickly and professionally, to not doing his job because of his feelings for another person. The character change just felt a bit sudden.

The first 25% was quite good, but after that it started to get dull. After around 60%, i just wanted to finish it.

Pieces of You was an emotional read.

Lucy was a really strong character.
The poor girl just couldn't catch a break. Going through one miscarriage would be horrible, but to go through as many as she did, and then have to go through all the other bad things that happened to her would be awful. I don't know how she found the strength to get out of bed, let alone do anything else.

The ending to this was really sad, but it was also quite nice.

Unfortunately, the same goes for this one. I just couldn't warm to them enough to like them as much as i did before.

There was one character that drove me up the wall - Dana. She said "Baby girl" about five times in two pages, and then kept saying either "Baby girl", "Baby boy", "Baby" or "Child" throughout the book. It gets really annoying after the tenth time!
