Scorched started out okay, but i lost interest.

The characters weren't awful, but i can't say i liked them.
They had plenty of annoying moments, and Verity constantly thinking "I'm ugly" got on my nerves.

I liked the first two chapters, but the rest was quite dull.
The pacing was too slow. It dragged, and dragged, and i thought the book would never end!

Overall, Alright, but way too slow.
